Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

YouPush is a desktop application developed by FirstReader LLC. This policy explains what data YouPush accesses, how it is used, and how you can control it.

Information YouPush Accesses, Collects, Stores, and Uses

In summary, and as detailed throughout this policy:

What YouPush Does

YouPush is a desktop video post-production tool. It helps YouTube creators generate metadata, thumbnails, captions, and Shorts from their video files. YouPush runs locally on your computer. Video files are never uploaded to YouPush servers.

Data That Stays on Your Machine

YouPush does not operate a server that receives or stores your video files.

On-Device Storage (Cookies and Similar Technologies)

YouPush stores and accesses information directly on your device. The desktop application keeps data in its local application data directory and in the embedded browser's localStorage. This on-device storage includes your YouTube and WordPress OAuth tokens, your Anthropic and OpenAI API keys, channel profile settings, the local SQLite database (video history, upload queue, and cached analytics), and application and session preferences.

The desktop application does not use advertising or tracking cookies and contains no analytics or telemetry. The YouPush marketing website (getyoupush.com) uses Google Analytics cookies to measure visitor traffic and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure advertising performance and show relevant ads. With advanced matching enabled, the Meta Pixel may collect information you submit on the site, such as your email address, and send it to Meta in hashed (irreversible) form to match your visit to a Meta account. This applies only to the marketing website, not the desktop app. Meta's data use is governed by its Privacy Policy; you can opt out through your Meta ad preferences or by blocking these cookies in your browser. You can remove all on-device data at any time by disconnecting your account in Settings or by uninstalling the application and deleting its data directory.

Data Sent to Third-Party Services

YouPush connects to external services using API keys you provide. When you use these features, data is sent directly from your machine to the service provider:

OpenAI (Whisper API)

Anthropic (Claude API)

YouTube (Google APIs)

WordPress (optional)

YouPush does not intercept, log, or store data in transit to these services. All API calls go directly from your machine to the provider.

YouTube API Services & Google User Data

YouPush uses YouTube API Services. By using YouPush's YouTube features, you agree to be bound by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy.

Google Data Accessed

YouPush requests the following YouTube permissions (OAuth scopes) and accesses the following Google user data:

How Google Data Is Used

YouPush uses your Google user data exclusively to provide the features you initiate within the application:

YouPush does not use your Google user data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the features described above.

Google Data Sharing

YouPush does not share your Google user data with any third party. Your YouTube OAuth tokens and channel data are never transmitted to YouPush servers or any service other than Google's YouTube API. All YouTube API calls are made directly from your local machine to Google's servers.

Google Data Storage & Protection

Your YouTube OAuth tokens (access token and refresh token) are stored locally on your machine in the application's secure data directory. They are never sent to YouPush servers. No Google user data is stored on any server operated by YouPush or FirstReader LLC. The application communicates with YouTube APIs over HTTPS exclusively.

Google Data Retention & Deletion

YouPush retains your YouTube OAuth tokens locally on your machine only while the application is installed and your YouTube account is connected. You can delete your Google user data at any time by:

YouTube analytics and channel data cached locally is refreshed or deleted within 30 days per YouTube API Services requirements. YouPush has no server-side Google user data to delete because we do not collect or store your Google data on our servers.

API Keys and Credentials

Your API keys (Anthropic, OpenAI) and OAuth tokens (YouTube, WordPress) are stored locally on your machine in the application's data directory and in browser localStorage. They are never transmitted to YouPush or any third party other than the respective service provider.

License Validation

When you purchase YouPush, a license key is validated against our licensing server. This transmits:

No personal information beyond this is collected during license validation.

Analytics

The YouPush website (getyoupush.com) uses Google Analytics to understand visitor traffic and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure advertising performance and reach visitors with relevant ads (see "On-Device Storage" above for details on advanced matching). The desktop application does not include analytics or telemetry.

Data Retention

YouPush stores data locally on your machine. Uninstalling the application and removing the application data directory deletes all stored data. YouPush has no server-side data to delete because we do not collect or store your data.

Children

YouPush is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when new features are added. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
