Privacy Policy

YouPush is a desktop application and website operated by FirstReader LLC. This policy explains what information the desktop application and getyoupush.com handle, why it is used, where it is stored, and how you can request access or deletion.

Summary

• Your original video files, generated media, channel settings, and local project database stay on your computer. YouPush does not upload your video files to a YouPush server.
• When you use AI features, audio or text is sent directly from your computer to OpenAI or Anthropic using your API keys. When you publish, the content you approve is sent to YouTube or an optional connected WordPress site.
• Packaged releases store long-lived API keys and authorization tokens in macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. Other non-secret application data is stored in the application's local data directory.
• YouPush servers store the information needed to sell and validate licenses, deliver downloads and email, respond to support requests, and measure limited application usage.
• The website uses Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and Microsoft Clarity to measure traffic, advertising, and site usability.

Information Stored on Your Computer

The desktop application stores the following information locally:

• Your video files, thumbnails, captions, transcripts, and rendered Shorts
• Channel profiles, voice settings, application preferences, and session state
• A local SQLite database containing video history, upload queue information, settings, and cached analytics
• Your OpenAI and Anthropic API keys, YouTube authorization tokens, and WordPress credentials

In packaged Mac and Windows releases, long-lived credentials and authorization tokens are stored in the operating system's protected credential store: macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. The desktop application does not contain advertising or profiling trackers.

Using YouPush's YouTube or WordPress disconnect control removes the locally stored credentials covered by that control. Uninstalling the application or deleting its data directory may not remove credentials stored separately by the operating system. If you are removing YouPush permanently, use the applicable disconnect control first and remove any remaining YouPush credentials from your operating system's credential manager.

Data Sent to Third-Party Services

YouPush connects to external services when you initiate the relevant feature:

• OpenAI: audio extracted from your video is sent for transcription. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic: transcripts and channel-profile context are sent to generate titles, descriptions, tags, and Shorts suggestions. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• YouTube and Google: video files, metadata, thumbnails, and captions are sent when you choose to publish, and channel analytics are retrieved for display. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• WordPress: if you connect a WordPress site, YouPush sends the content updates you approve through that site's REST API.

YouPush does not route this content through a YouPush server. These requests go directly from your computer to the provider you are using.

YouTube API Services and Google User Data

YouPush uses YouTube API Services. By using YouPush's YouTube features, you agree to the Google Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy.

YouPush provides the Google OAuth client used for normal YouTube sign-in. You do not need to create a Google Cloud project or provide Google OAuth client credentials. Advanced users may optionally configure their own Google OAuth client.

Google data accessed:

• youtube.upload: uploads video files, thumbnails, and captions on your behalf
• youtube: reads and manages channel content, video metadata, playlists, and end screens
• youtube.force-ssl: communicates with YouTube APIs over HTTPS
• yt-analytics.readonly: reads channel and video analytics for display within YouPush

YouPush uses Google user data only to provide features you initiate, including uploading content, applying metadata you review, displaying analytics, and selecting playlists. It does not use Google user data for advertising or profiling.

After you authorize YouPush, the resulting YouTube access and refresh tokens and your channel data are not transmitted to YouPush servers or shared with services other than Google's YouTube APIs. In packaged releases, those authorization tokens are stored locally in macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. No Google user data is stored on a server operated by YouPush or FirstReader LLC.

You can remove locally stored Google authorization tokens by disconnecting YouTube in YouPush. You can also revoke YouPush's access from your Google Account permissions page. If you are removing YouPush permanently, remove any remaining local application data and YouPush credentials from your operating system's credential manager. Cached YouTube information is refreshed or removed in accordance with YouTube API Services requirements.

Information Stored by YouPush Servers

FirstReader LLC stores limited business and service records in Google Cloud Firestore:

• Purchases and licenses: purchaser name and email, product and license information, license status, Stripe checkout references, activation counts, and creation dates
• Device activations: license key, machine identifier, optional machine name, instance identifier, and activation date
• Downloads and email: email address, requested platform, source, timestamps, subscription records, waitlist records, and unsubscribe status
• Support: the email address, subject, message, and related delivery information for questions or support email
• Application telemetry: a one-way hash derived from the machine identifier, application version, operating system, and counts of launches and videos processed

The license service uses this information to issue and validate licenses, enforce activation and channel limits, prevent misuse, provide support, and maintain purchase records. YouPush does not store full payment-card numbers. Stripe processes payment information under Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Website Analytics and Advertising

getyoupush.com uses the following services:

• Google Analytics: measures visits, sessions, approximate location, browser and device information, and interactions with the site. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as _ga. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Meta Pixel: measures advertising performance and may be used to create or reach advertising audiences. It can receive browser, device, page-view, and interaction information. If advanced matching is enabled, information submitted on the site may be sent to Meta in hashed form. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
• Microsoft Clarity: records interaction and diagnostic information such as clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, page layout, and errors so we can understand site usability. Privacy-sensitive form fields are masked by Clarity. Clarity may use cookies and pseudonymous identifiers. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

These optional services load according to the choices you make in the site's consent controls. You can review or change those choices using the Cookie settings control in the site footer. You can also limit these services through browser privacy controls, cookie blocking, and the privacy or advertising controls offered by the respective provider.

Email and Communications

If you request a download link or lead magnet, join the newsletter or waitlist, purchase YouPush, or contact support, we use your email address to provide the requested service and communicate with you. Resend processes and delivers YouPush email and may store audience and delivery records under Resend's Privacy Policy. Marketing messages include an unsubscribe option. We retain an unsubscribe record so an opted-out address is not added back without a new request.

Application Usage Statistics

The desktop application sends limited usage statistics so we can understand whether and how much YouPush is used. These records contain a one-way hash derived from the machine identifier, application version, operating system, and counts of launches and videos processed. They do not contain video titles, file paths, URLs, channel names, YouTube account data, or license keys.

Data Retention

Local application data remains on your computer until you remove it. Purchase and license records are retained as needed to provide the license, maintain accounting and transaction records, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations. Download, mailing-list, waitlist, support, unsubscribe, and telemetry records are retained for the purposes described above until they are no longer needed or you make an applicable deletion request. Some records may be retained when required for legal, security, accounting, or suppression purposes.

Your Choices and Requests

You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by FirstReader LLC by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Deleting purchase or activation records may prevent a paid license from continuing to work.

Security

We use access controls, HTTPS, operating-system credential storage, and service-provider security controls appropriate to the information we handle. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

YouPush is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the product or our data practices change. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
